Mightiest Mark Meganium Tera Raid Event Returns in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
The Pokémon Company has officially launched the return of the Mightiest Mark Meganium Tera Raid event in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, giving players another chance to take on one of Paldea’s toughest raid challenges.
From now until February 5th, Trainers can once again battle a 7★ Tera Raid featuring Meganium with the Psychic Tera Type. As with previous Mightiest Mark events, this Meganium can only be caught once per save file, but players can continue challenging the raid afterward to earn valuable rewards.
A Powerful Psychic-Type Challenge
Despite being a Grass-type Pokémon by nature, this Meganium’s Psychic Tera Type significantly changes how the battle plays out. Players should expect a bulky opponent capable of setting up defenses, sustaining itself, and punishing poorly prepared teams. Coordination, proper type matchups, and survivability are key to victory.
Upon capture, Meganium will come with the Mightiest Mark, marking it as a special raid-exclusive Pokémon.
Best Pokémon to Use Against Psychic Tera Meganium
Since Psychic Tera Pokémon are weak to Dark, Ghost, and Bug-type moves, these typings are your best offensive options. Below are some of the most effective choices for this raid:
Top Recommended Counters
Annihilape (Ghost/Fighting)
A consistent raid favourite, Annihilape can stack power over time while avoiding Psychic-type weaknesses thanks to its Ghost typing. With proper bulk and recovery, it excels in longer battles.
Kingambit (Dark/Steel)
Kingambit’s Dark typing allows it to hit Meganium super effectively while its Steel typing provides excellent overall bulk. It’s a strong pick for dealing steady damage and surviving Meganium’s attacks.
Gholdengo (Ghost/Steel)
Gholdengo offers great defensive typing and strong Ghost-type offense, making it well-suited for Psychic Tera raids. Its natural resistances help it stay on the field longer, especially in coordinated teams.
Ceruledge (Fire/Ghost)
Ceruledge combines powerful Ghost-type attacks with self-sustain options, allowing it to deal consistent damage while keeping its HP in check throughout the raid.
Lokix (Bug/Dark)
For players looking to exploit double weaknesses, Lokix provides strong Bug- and Dark-type pressure. While more fragile than some other options, it can deal significant damage when supported properly.
General Raid Tips
- Avoid Fighting-type attackers, as Psychic-type moves will hit them super effectively.
- Bring Pokémon with high special bulk, as Meganium may rely on special attacks.
- Support moves like cheers, debuffs, and healing can make a big difference, especially in online raids.
- Once caught, you can continue battling the raid for rewards, even though Meganium can only be captured once.
