Japanese Pokémon Live-Action Drama English Dub Available on Apple TV in Select Countries
The Pokémon Company has quietly launched an English dub of its Japanese live-action drama series, Pokémon Live: A Pocketful of Adventures, on Apple TV — but only in select regions.
Originally released in Japan in 2023 and later in Korea in 2024, the drama follows the story of Madoka Akagi, a recent university graduate who reconnects with the world of Pokémon after receiving her childhood copy of Pokémon Red from her mother. What begins as a nostalgic trip quickly becomes a heartfelt exploration of growing up, reconnecting with past passions, and rediscovering joy through Pokémon.
According to Bulbapedia, this English dub version debuted on May 18th, 2024, and is currently available only in select countries across the Middle East and North Africa via Apple TV.
It remains unclear whether this dub will be expanded to more countries or other streaming platforms in the future. For now, fans outside the supported regions may need to wait patiently for broader access — or hope that The Pokémon Company officially announces a global release.
