The set to be released in March 2020 has been revealed to be named ‘Battle Styles” and will introduce a new style of battling mechanic to Pokemon TCG
Here you can see Houndoom labeled as “Single Strike” and “Rapid Strike”and Urshifu labeled as “Rapid Strike”

Single Strike cards deliver hard hitting attacks, Houndoom has the ability “Single Strike Roar” which allows you to search your deck for a Single Strike Energy card to attach to one of your Single Strike Pokemon.
It’s not just Pokemon that can have a battle style, there will be trainer cards and energy cards with them too. This is because all cards with the same battle style will be able to work together. The goal of this new mechanic is to encourage players to build decks that focus on one battle style.
This new mechanic of battle will continue into future TCG sets, but not all cards will feature a Battle Style. The mechanic is essentially a modern of Gym Leader Pokemon, Team Aqua and Team Magma cards, SP Pokemon etc. Cards grouped together under a certain label to work together.
Battle Styles will feature over 160 cards, including 60 battle cards, 12 Pokemon V, 6 Pokemon VMAX cards, 16 full art cards and 2 special energy cards. It will based on Japan’s “Single Strike Master and Rapid Strike Master Set” Which will be released on the 22 of January 2021. Battle Styles will be released on the 19th of March 2021.
Twenty plus cards have been revealed in a YouTube trailer and there has also been an update on the Japanese TCG website. Also the Enlglish booster packs and Elite trainer boxes along with other products, unfortunately it does look like theme decks have been discontinued. It has also been revealed checklane blisters featuring Corvinknight and Tyranitar.
Here’s some images of just some of the upcoming products!

This appears to be quite an interesting set and so far I like the new mechanics behind in it. There’s definitely some products that I will be purchasing when this set is finally released.
