“Black Bolt” and “White Flare” TCG Sets Officially Revealed Featuring Every Unova Pokémon!
Big news for Pokémon TCG fans dropped today at Japan’s Champions League tournament — the “Black Bolt” and “White Flare” sets have been officially revealed, and they’re a full celebration of every single Unova-region Pokémon!
Just as Pokémon Card 151 honored the original Kanto Pokémon, these dual sets will spotlight all 156 Pokémon from Generation V, making them a must-have for collectors and Unova lovers alike.
Release Date: June 6th, 2025 (Japan)
Both sets will release in Japan on June 6th, with standard 7-card booster packs available — but that’s not all. A new deluxe 35-card pack will also launch, priced at 1,450 yen. These deluxe packs include the equivalent of five boosters and guarantee one Illustration Rare, making them an exciting option for collectors hunting premium cards.
New BWR Rarity – Reshiram & Zekrom Shine
Two Secret Rare cards were unveiled for the powerful Legendary duo, Reshiram ex and Zekrom ex. These cards debut a brand new “BWR” rarity, which stands for “Black and White Rare.” The cards follow a striking monochromatic aesthetic, paying homage to the Unova region’s iconic color palette.
Victini TCG File & Battle Events
Also launching June 6th is a 3-pocket card file featuring Unova’s fiery mascot Victini. It includes:
- 3 booster packs of Black Bolt
- 3 booster packs of White Flare
- A guaranteed Victini Illustration Rare
- Retail price: 2,640 yen
From June to August 2025, Japan will host special “Victini BWR Battle” tournaments, where players build decks using just Black Bolt and White Flare boosters. Winners of these events will earn a special monochrome-style Victini promo, while participants will receive a 1-card booster pack containing one of eight possible promo cards — including a highly sought-after Full Art Cheren.
Additionally, each player will receive four stamped Energy cards (from a set of eight), adding more collectible flair to the event.
