Uri Geller Gives Nintendo Permission To Print Kadabra on Pokemon Cards again!
Ever noticed that after 2000 Kadabra never appeared on any more Pokemon TCG items? It’s other evolution’s Abra and Alakazam continued on into new TCG sets however Nintendo agreed to stop print on the infamous Kadabra after Uri Geller sued them.
First off let start with why Uri Geller sued them, I honestly had a different idea myself so it’s quiet interesting to see what happened over 20 years ago. The fact is Kadabra’s Japanese name is Yungerer. This is very close to Uri Geller, and his trademark spoon calls to mind Geller’s famous spoon-bending. Looks like Nintendo did base Kadabra on Uri Geller but did not even notify him of their idea before publishing it worldwide.
After Uri Geller sued Nintendo and requested Kadabra no longer to be printed there was only three Kadabra cards released in English.

Nintendo held their side of the deal for 20 years until Uri Geller contacted them recently after noticing a huge number of people actually emailing him begging him to allow Nintendo to reprint. I can imagine there would be a tremendous amout of Abra, Kadabra and Alakazam fans out there.
Uri Geller sent a letter with the following: ‘I sent […] a letter to the chairman of Nintendo giving them permission to relaunch the Uri Geller Kadabra/Yungeller worldwide.’ He also has just posted on twitter.

Who would have thought after 20 years he would change his mind! Who’s excited to see a new Kadabra card? I know I am.
