McDonald’s 2025 Pokémon TCG Promotion Celebrates the Year of the Dragon
Pokémon fans have something exciting to look forward to! McDonald’s has unveiled its annual Pokémon TCG promotion for 2024, this time with a special theme inspired by the Year of the Dragon. Featuring a dazzling lineup of Dragon Pokémon and other fan favourites, this year’s set promises to be a collector’s dream.
Dates and Location
The promotion will run in France from December 4th, 2024, to January 21st, 2025. While there’s no confirmed U.S. release date yet, France typically launches its promotions one to two months after the United States. Given the Dragon theme, the U.S. might see the cards arrive in December or January, possibly aligning with Chinese New Year celebrations.
As for Australia, there’s no word yet on when the promotion will arrive. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for updates.

Update for the US!!
Good news for Pokémon fans in the US! The highly anticipated return of Pokémon cards to McDonald’s Happy Meals is finally confirmed. After months of speculation and a successful launch in France, the Dragon Discovery Pokémon card promotion will debut in the US starting January 21, 2025 and fans will have until February 24, 2025, to collect them all. As for Australia, I am sure ours will be announce any day now.

Pokemon has flown straight into Australian McDonalds hard and fast after the release in the US. Online Pokemon groups have already started putting restrictions of selling these cards as scalpers buy them by the box and leave the poor kids with nothing.
