Mightiest Mark Blastoise Tera Raid Event Returns

Mightiest Mark Blastoise Tera Raid Event Returns for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

The Pokémon Company has officially kicked off another 7★ Tera Raid Event for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, bringing back one of the toughest starter raids to date.

From now until January 29, players can once again challenge a Steel Tera Type Blastoise in a limited-time 7★ Tera Raid. As with previous Mightiest Mark events, this Blastoise is no ordinary opponent — it comes with the Mightiest Mark, signifying its status as a truly powerful Pokémon.

Event Details at a Glance

  • Pokémon: Blastoise
  • Tera Type: Steel
  • Raid Difficulty: 7★
  • Mark: Mightiest Mark
  • Availability: Now until January 29
  • Catch Limit: One per save file

Players who have already captured Blastoise during its original run will not be able to catch it again. However, you can continue challenging the raid multiple times to earn valuable rewards, including high-level items and materials.

A Tough Challenge for Even Veteran Trainers

Steel-type Tera raids are vulnerable to Fighting, Ground, and Fire-type attacks. However, Blastoise’s natural bulk and coverage moves mean survivability and setup are just as important as raw damage.

Here are the most reliable Pokémon choices for clearing the raid:

Annihilape (Top Solo Pick)

  • Why it works: Rage Fist becomes incredibly powerful as Annihilape takes hits, and Defiant punishes stat drops.
  • Key Moves: Rage Fist, Bulk Up, Screech, Drain Punch
  • Tera Type: Fighting
  • Role: Main damage dealer (excellent for solo play)

Iron Hands

  • Why it works: Massive HP and Attack make Iron Hands extremely consistent in high-level raids.
  • Key Moves: Belly Drum, Drain Punch, Thunder Punch
  • Tera Type: Fighting
  • Role: High-damage attacker with self-healing

Koraidon

  • Why it works: Orichalcum Pulse boosts Attack and supports the whole team with strong Fighting-type damage.
  • Key Moves: Collision Course, Screech, Drain Punch
  • Tera Type: Fighting
  • Role: Physical powerhouse (best in online co-op)

Great Tusk

  • Why it works: Access to Ground and Fighting coverage plus strong defense makes it a safe pick.
  • Key Moves: Headlong Rush, Close Combat, Bulk Up
  • Tera Type: Ground or Fighting
  • Role: Consistent physical attacker

Support Options (Multiplayer Recommended)

If you’re playing online, having at least one support Pokémon makes the raid much smoother:

Grimmsnarl

  • Moves: Reflect, Light Screen, Taunt, Spirit Break
  • Role: Team-wide damage reduction and disruption

Umbreon

  • Moves: Screech, Helping Hand, Snarl, Moonlight
  • Role: Defense debuffer and sustain support

Don’t Miss Your Chance

Mightiest Mark Pokémon are some of the most sought-after additions in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and their reruns are never guaranteed. If Blastoise is missing from your collection, this is your chance to add the iconic Water-type starter — now with a Steel twist — before the event ends.
