New Pokémon Pixel Art Apparel

GU Launching New Pokémon Pixel Art Apparel In Japan

The Pokémon Company and Japanese fashion retailer GU are once again joining forces—this time to bring fans a blast from the past with a brand-new apparel line inspired by retro Pokémon sprites.

Titled “Pokémon Pixel Art”, the upcoming collection pays tribute to the classic pixelated sprites that appeared in early Pokémon titles—from the Game Boy era up to Pokémon Sword and Shield. These familiar visuals, used in overworld maps and PC Boxes, have been lovingly transformed into fashion-forward pieces for trainers of all ages.

The apparel line will include:

  • T-shirts and Tops – Featuring pixel art of Pokémon like Pikachu, Bulbasaur, and Eevee in nostalgic 8-bit style.
  • Bottoms and Shorts – With subtle pixel details for a casual but stylish look.
  • Tote Bags and Accessories – Perfect for carrying Poké Balls, snacks, or your Switch.

Both adult and kids sizes will be available, making this a fun and accessible line for the whole family. Whether you grew up with Red and Blue or just love the retro look, there’s something in this drop for every kind of fan.

The collection will go on sale April 25th, 2025 in GU stores across Japan and through the GU Online Store. With pixel art this charming, we wouldn’t be surprised if it sells out fast!
