Pokémon Center Singapore Closing for Renewal Works From April 1st 2026
The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokémon Center Singapore will temporarily close for renovation works starting April 1st, 2026.
The store, located inside the Jewel Changi Airport mall, will undergo a major renewal project that is scheduled to be completed sometime in the third quarter of 2026.
New Singapore-Inspired Design
According to the announcement, the renovated Pokémon Center will feature Singapore heritage-inspired installations along with new interior design elements based on everyday local culture.
The goal of the redesign is to better reflect Singapore’s identity while keeping the signature Pokémon Center shopping experience.
A New Symbolic Pokémon
Another interesting detail revealed is that the refreshed store will introduce a new symbolic Pokémon representing the “unique charm of Singapore.”
The current mascot for Pokémon Center Singapore is Lapras, but it appears this could change once the renovation is complete. At the moment, it is not known whether this new representative Pokémon will be an existing species or a brand-new one.
The announcement comes shortly after news of Pokémon Winds and Waves, a new project rumored to be inspired by Southeast Asia, which has led some fans to speculate that the new mascot could be connected.
Pop-Up Stores During the Closure
While the main Pokémon Center location is closed, fans in Singapore will still be able to purchase Pokémon merchandise at temporary Pokémon Pop-Up Stores.
Two pop-up locations have already been confirmed:
- Changi Airport – opening April 1st, 2026
- Plaza Singapura Mall – opening April 6th, 2026
These temporary stores will allow fans to continue picking up Pokémon merchandise while the main Pokémon Center undergoes its renovation.
More details about the redesigned store and the new symbolic Pokémon are expected to be revealed closer to the reopening later in 2026.
