Pokemon Go will celebrate the Year of the Pig with the Lunar New Year event! It will feature 12 Pokemon, each representing an animal from the Chinese Zodiac.
The event will take place from February 4, 2019 at 1pm PST until February 13, 2019 at 1pm PST and will feature:
- Increased spawns of:
- Rattata
- Ekans
- Mankey
- Ponyta
- Electabuzz
- Dratini
- Mareep
- Miltank
- Torchic
- Poochyena
- Spoink
- Buneary
- You may encounter a shiny Spoink!
- Double catch XP
- Double XP when evolving Pokemon
- Higher chance of getting Lucky Pokemon from trades
Remember that Ponyta, Dratini, Mareep, and Poochyena already have shiny variants available, so the increased spawns may help you encounter its shiny form!
