The Season of Heritage begins Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time until Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
The Story
After witnessing the power Hoopa Unbound was able to unleash during the Season of Mischief, Professor Willow has become intrigued by what other mysterious powers may be lying dormant in the world. His research brings him to a historical cave site, where he stumbles upon a large door bearing a set of strange unlocking mechanisms. How does it open? What lies beyond? Your research this Season will see you collaborating with both Professor Willow and the team leaders to help uncover this historic site’s mysteries.
Monthly Seasonal Bonuses and Timed Research
A different Seasonal Bonus will be featured every month during the Season of Heritage.
In addition, Timed Research will be available every month and will reward Trainers with exclusive avatar items. December’s Timed Research will be available to all Trainers, while the Timed Research in January and February will be available to those who pre-purchase a ticket for Pokémon GO Tour: Johto.
December: Team Leader Blanche
Work alongside Blanche and Professor Willow to activate the first portion of the mysterious door’s unlocking mechanism. Blanche has been able to decipher that it requires Stardust and the help of Ice- and Ground-type Pokémon to do so—and that’s where you come in!
Monthly Bonus: 2× Stardust for first catch of each day
Timed Research: Stardust Challenge
Earn Stardust during the month of December to make progress on Blanche’s Timed Research and unlock rewards like the Deino Hat avatar item! (The Deino Hat avatar item will be available for purchase in the shop after the Season ends). Collect 120,000 Stardust in total to unlock it!
January: Team Leader Spark
Monthly Bonus: 2× XP for first catch of each day
Timed Research: XP Challenge
Earn XP during the month of January to make progress on Spark’s Timed Research and unlock rewards like the Goomy Hat avatar item! (The Goomy Hat avatar item will be available for purchase in the shop after the Season ends). Earn 240,000 XP in total to unlock! January’s Timed Research will only be available to Trainers who pre-purchase a ticket for Pokémon GO Tour: Johto prior to January 10, 2022.
February: Team Leader Candela
Monthly Bonus: Increased Candy XL from hatching Eggs and 2× XP from hatching Eggs
Timed Research: Catch Challenge
Catch Pokémon during the month of February to make progress on Candela’s Timed Research and unlock rewards like the Noibat Hat avatar item! (The Noibat Hat avatar item will be available for purchase in the shop after the Season ends). Catch 600 Total Pokémon to unlock it! February’s Timed Research will only be available as a pre-purchase bonus for Trainers who purchase a ticket for Pokémon GO Tour: Johto prior to February 10, 2022.
