
Pokémon Legends Z-A Launches October 16, 2025
The Pokémon Company has officially announced that Pokémon Legends Z-A will launch worldwide on October 16, 2025 for both Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.
This highly anticipated entry in the Legends series returns players to the Kalos region, offering a fresh take on the lore of Lumiose City and the mysterious roots of Mega Evolution. In addition to the release date, The Pokémon Company has also revealed that the next Pokémon Presents livestream is scheduled for July 22, 2025 at 6AM PST. This event will unveil new gameplay footage and updates for Legends Z-A and other upcoming Pokémon titles.
Dual Versions for Switch and Switch 2
Pokémon Legends Z-A will be available in two versions:
- Nintendo Switch version – Standard edition
- Nintendo Switch 2 edition – Enhanced edition with improved visuals and performance
A special Upgrade Pack will be offered for existing Switch owners who upgrade to the Switch 2. Priced at 1,000 yen, this pack enables players to enjoy the enhanced version without repurchasing the entire game.

Box Art and Pricing Details (Japan)
The physical box art for both versions has been revealed, showcasing an all-new visual style featuring a futuristic Lumiose City skyline. Pricing (including 10% consumption tax) is as follows:

- Physical: 7,128 yen
- Digital: 7,100 yen
- Pokémon Legends Z-A Switch 2 Edition:
- Physical: 8,128 yen
- Digital: 8,100 yen
Pre-Order Dates
- Digital pre-orders open June 5, 2025 via the Nintendo eShop
- Physical pre-orders begin July 23, 2025, the day after the Pokémon Presents presentation
