Pokémon Legends Z-A Version 2.0.1 Update Now Live – Mega Shard Cap Increased and Quality-of-Life Improvements
The Pokémon Company has released the Version 2.0.1 update for Pokémon Legends Z-A, bringing a host of quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and gameplay enhancements for trainers exploring the Mega Dimension.
Update Overview
- Version: 2.0.1
- Release Date: January 22, 2026
- Platforms: Nintendo Switch
This update continues to refine the post-launch experience for players, especially those progressing through the Mega Dimension DLC content.
Key Features and Improvements
Mega Shard Item Cap Raised
- The maximum number of Mega Shards a player can hold has been increased from 999 to 9,999, making it easier to stockpile resources for Mega Evolutions.
Multiple Berry Purchases
- Players can now buy multiple berries at once at the berry stand, streamlining inventory management.
- After starting the Mega Dimension story, berries can also be purchased from staff at Nouveau Cafe 3, allowing trainers to quickly gather supplies for training and battles.
Bug Fixes
Version 2.0.1 addresses several confirmed issues:
- Pokémon in certain alternate dimensions may now consistently move toward their intended target when using a move.
- Weather effects will no longer get stuck on sunny conditions.
- Shiny Pokémon obtained before Mid-Dimension Rush will now correctly register in the Mega Evolution Pokédex when acquiring Mega Stones from that mission.
- Mission visuals now display correctly, resolving instances where unrelated images would appear.
- Side mission 188, “Special Search Complete!”, can now be completed even if extradimensional investigation points reach the upper limit.
For ongoing issues, entering and exiting another extradimensional dimension may allow players to proceed.
Why This Update Matters
This update is particularly significant for trainers who frequently use Mega Evolutions, as the increased Mega Shard cap allows for longer adventures without running out of resources. Combined with faster berry purchases and resolved bugs, players can focus more on exploration and combat rather than inventory management or technical hiccups.
