Excitement is reaching new heights in the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) community with the official announcement of the upcoming expansion set, Pokémon TCG Scarlet & Violet 4.5 Paldean Fates. Anticipated to make its special debut in January, this expansion set introduces the allure of Shiny Pokémon, promising a sparkling journey for collectors and trainers alike.

Revealed as the special January set, Paldean Fates takes the spotlight with more than 240 cards, featuring over 130 Shiny Pokémon. Among the luminous stars are Shiny Pikachu, Tinkaton, Ceruledge, Dondozo, Tatsugiri, and many more captivating creatures. The expansion introduces 11 Shiny Pokémon ex, including the formidable Tera Charizard ex, Tera Forretress ex, and Tera Espathra ex, each showcasing their unique skills and charm.

The set’s description paints a vivid picture of the radiant journey that awaits trainers: “Shed some light and discover sparkling wonders in the Scarlet & Violet—Paldean Fates expansion!” With a focus on Shiny Pokémon and the inclusion of Ancient and Future Pokémon ex like Great Tusk and Iron Treads, Paldean Fates promises to be a dazzling addition to the Pokémon TCG universe.

To make the release even more enticing, Paldean Fates will feature a variety of special cards and rarities, including three illustration rare cards featuring Shiny Pokémon, eight special illustration rare cards featuring Shiny Pokémon ex or Supporter cards, and six hyper rare cards of select Pokémon ex, featuring a new and unique raised foil effect. Additionally, the set will include a handful of full-art Supporter cards, adding an extra layer of collectible appeal.

The release of Paldean Fates marks the third English set to carry the “Fates” moniker, following the success of 2019’s Hidden Fates and 2021’s Shining Fates. Following the Japanese tradition, the English set mirrors the theme of “Shiny” in its name, aligning with the enchanting focus on Shiny Pokémon.

As with previous special sets, individual booster packs for Paldean Fates will not be sold separately. Instead, collectors and trainers can look forward to obtaining the packs within specially curated products that enhance the overall experience of the expansion set.
