Pokémon x Shonen Jump Collaboration Announced in Japan
Weekly Shonen Jump, Japan’s most iconic manga magazine and home to hit series like One Piece, My Hero Academia, and Blue Box, has announced its first-ever official collaboration with the Pokémon franchise.
As part of this exciting crossover, a series of exclusive illustrations will be released, each drawn by a different Shonen Jump manga artist. Each illustration will pair a signature character from their respective series with a Pokémon that complements their personality or style.
So far, three collaboration illustrations have been revealed:
- Eiichiro Oda (One Piece): Luffy & Pikachu
- Kouji Miura (Blue Box): Chinatsu Shikano & Totodile
- Shuhei Miyazaki (Me & Roboco): Roboco & Mega Blaziken

The full set of illustrations will be featured on a special group cover for Shonen Jump’s combined 36th and 37th issue, scheduled to go on sale in Japan on August 4th, 2025.
To celebrate the crossover, the following issue (#38) will include a free sticker based on the group illustration, along with limited-time giveaways for readers. More surprises may also be revealed as part of the celebration.
While no international release for the illustrations or magazine bonus content has been confirmed yet, collectors and fans are already keeping an eye out for imports.
This collaboration brings together two of Japan’s most beloved franchises and is sure to be a hit with both manga readers and Pokémon Trainers alike.
