Sandshrew Takes Over: Tottori Prefecture’s Sandshrew Playground Park Now Open, Adding to the Pokemon Company’s Playground Craze in Japan

Well, well, well, looks like the Pokemon Company just can’t get enough of those playground parks in Japan. Just a few days after announcing the Geodude Playground Park in Iwate Prefecture, they’ve gone and opened yet another one, this time featuring everyone’s favorite sand mouse, Sandshrew.

The Sandshrew Playground Park is located in Tottori Prefecture’s Sand Dunes Children’s Country theme park, and it’s filled with playground equipment and statues featuring Sandshrew and its Alolan variant, as well as other ground-type Pokemon. And if you’re a Pokemon GO player, you’ll be happy to know that visiting this park will increase your chances of encountering Sandshrew and Alolan Sandshrew in the game.

But wait, there’s more! You can also take AR pictures of Sandshrew and Alolan Sandshrew using GO Snapshot. And if you need to restock on postcards and other items, the structures in the park will appear as Pokestops in Pokemon GO.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love a good Pokemon-themed playground as much as the next fan, but do we really need two of them in one week? It’s almost like the Pokemon Company is trying to bankrupt us with all these cute and fun activities. There’s no way this would ever happen in Australia haha.
