Get ready to sail into Johto nostalgia—Wisdom of Sea and Sky, the next major expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket, is launching globally on July 29, 2025, at 11 PM PDT (July 30 at 2 AM EDT / 6 AM UTC)
What’s Inside This Johto-Focused Set
- Over 200 new cards spotlighting iconic Johto Pokémon such as Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Pichu, Cleffa, and the Golden duo—Ho-Oh ex and Lugia ex
- Classic Johto characters like Silver, Lyra, and the legendary Red Gyarados also make their debut
- Introducing Pokémon with free energy attacks—a first for the game, opening up brand new deck strategies
Headliner Attacks
- Ho-Oh ex: Phoenix Turbo — Deals 80 damage, then attaches 1 Fire, Water, and Lightning Energy from your Energy Zone to a Benched Pokémon
- Lugia ex: Elemental Blast — 180 damage, discarding 1 each of Fire, Water, and Lightning Energy from itself
More Key Additions
- Umbreon ex and Espeon ex with unique abilities like Dark Chase and Psychic Healing
- New Trainer cards like Lyra, Silver, Rescue Scarf (a Tool), and Elemental Switch (an Item)
Free Trading System Overhaul
Launching alongside the expansion (around July 29), Pokémon TCG Pocket receives a major update:
- Trade tokens are retired in favor of shinedust, required to trade ♦♦♦, ♦♦♦♦, and ★ rarity cards.
- A new Wishlist system lets players add up to 20 desired cards and feature three on their profile.
- Duplicate cards now award double shinedust when already registered in your Card Dex.
- Leftover trade tokens can be exchanged in the Shop for pack hourglasses (max 60) or shinedust, with unlimited exchange options for larger amounts
Trading will be unavailable during the update window from July 24 (UTC) to July 29, 2025
