The first artist themed Pokémon Cards have been announced!

Last week, the Pokemon company released the images of the 25th anniversary music artists in a trainer form. I think its a fantastic idea, as most of us get our own trainer cards. Three cards will be released with Katy Perry, Post Malone and J Balvin with their Pokemon partners. The one thing I did love was that each card has its own sneaky info, for instance the numbering on the bottom which is usually for the set it actually the artists birthday.

Katy Perry V is card #010/025 because her birthday is October 25th, Post Malone V is #007/004 because his birthday is July 4th, and J Balvin V is #005/007 because his birthday is May 7th. Each artist card was also drawn by a different illustrator. Yuu Nishida has drawn Katy Perry and her Pikachu, Naoki Saito has drawn Post Malone and his Butterfree, and nagimiso has drawn J Balvin and his Charizard. This gives each one their own personal feel.

There is no information whether these cards will be printed for collectors, but J Balvin did post a picture of his card on Insta so we know that the artists have hard copies of their own card. I think I need a new trainer V card that’s for sure!
