HORI Announces Espeon and Umbreon-Themed Switch 2 Controller and Pouches
Pokémon fans who love the Eeveelutions are getting another gorgeous piece of gaming hardware, with HORI announcing a new Espeon and Umbreon-themed collection for Nintendo Switch 2.
Called Pokémon Starlight Night, the new range combines Espeon’s elegant purple tones with Umbreon’s darker design, gold detailing and a starry night theme.
The collection includes a HORIPAD Turbo controller, a quilted mid-size pouch and a shoulder pouch, with all three products scheduled to launch in Japan in November 2026.
A Starlight Night Theme for Espeon and Umbreon
The new collection is based around the connection between Espeon and Umbreon, with the two Pokémon represented through a sophisticated night-sky design.
The accessories feature purple colouring, gold line artwork and star details, while the pouches also include small charms inspired by the sun and moon.
It is a particularly nice match for the two Pokémon, with Espeon associated with the day and Umbreon with the night.
HORI describes the controller as having a refined matte finish with elegant gold detailing, giving it a considerably more subtle look than some of the brighter Pokémon controllers we’ve seen.
HORIPAD Turbo – Espeon & Umbreon
The star of the collection is the HORIPAD Turbo for Nintendo Switch 2, featuring Espeon and Umbreon across the controller.
The Japanese release is a wired controller, while HORI’s international listing also features an Espeon and Umbreon Wireless HORIPAD Turbo with a rechargeable battery, TMR sticks, motion controls and up to 10 hours of battery life.
The controller includes a range of HORI’s features, including:
- Turbo and Turbo Hold functionality
- Assignable buttons
- Custom button profiles
- Gyroscope and accelerometer
- Durable TMR sticks
- GameChat C Button
- Programmable rear buttons on the wireless version
The design itself is definitely the biggest attraction, though. The combination of Espeon’s purple, Umbreon’s black and gold detailing makes this one of the better-looking Pokémon controllers HORI has released.
Matching Pokémon Switch 2 Pouches
The controller isn’t coming alone.
HORI is also releasing two matching carrying accessories as part of the Starlight Night collection.
Quilted Mid-Size Pouch
The Quilted Medium Pouch features the same Espeon and Umbreon artwork, with a soft quilted design and gold accents.
It measures approximately 29.5 × 9 × 14.8 cm and weighs around 180g.
The pouch is compatible with Nintendo Switch 2 as well as the original Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch OLED models.
Shoulder Pouch
There’s also a smaller Shoulder Pouch, measuring approximately 9.1 × 2.6 × 8.9 cm and weighing around 60g.
Despite being designed for Switch 2, HORI confirms that it can also be used with the original Switch, Switch Lite and Switch OLED.
The Good News for Australian Pokémon Fans
While the initial announcement is for Japan, Australian fans are actually pretty lucky with HORI Pokémon products.
The Espeon and Umbreon controller is already available through Australian retailers, including BIG W, where the HORI Pokémon Umbreon and Espeon controller is listed for $109.95 AUD. BIG W
And I can personally say this one is worth getting.
I was lucky enough to get mine recently, and it is absolutely beautiful. The colours look even better in person, and the gold detailing really makes the Espeon and Umbreon artwork stand out.
It’s also great to see that Australian Nintendo Switch retailers are getting these Pokémon HORI accessories rather than fans having to import everything directly from Japan.
The matching pouch is also listed by BIG W in Australia, giving fans another way to complete the Starlight Night setup. BIG W
