The Pokémon Company has officially unveiled one of the biggest Trading Card Game releases of Pokémon’s 30th Anniversary celebrations. The new Pokémon Trading Card Game MEGA Expansion Pack: 30th CELEBRATION will launch in Japan on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, alongside several premium collector products featuring brand-new artwork and exclusive cards.
With an all-holographic expansion, a brand-new “Futuristic Rare” card rarity, classic card reprints, and premium Espeon, Umbreon, and Pikachu products, this anniversary release is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Pokémon TCG launches in years.

Unlike standard expansions, every booster pack contains six foil cards, making this a premium-style anniversary product designed to celebrate 30 years of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
While currently announced for Japan, Pokémon has also confirmed that 30th Celebration will receive a worldwide release on September 16, 2026, with additional products arriving throughout the year.
Introducing the New “Futuristic Rare” Rarity
One of the biggest surprises is the debut of a brand-new rarity known as Futuristic Rare.
Illustrated by acclaimed Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN, these cards feature bold, colourful artwork designed to represent Pokémon’s future.

- Umbreon ex
The artwork is unlike anything we’ve seen in the Pokémon TCG before and is already becoming one of the most talked-about aspects of the set.
30 Classic Cards Return
Much like the original Celebrations set from 2021, 30th CELEBRATION will feature a special Classic Collection of iconic cards from Pokémon TCG history.
Each classic card receives:
- A special 30th Anniversary Pikachu stamp.

- Collector-only status, meaning they won’t be tournament legal.

Launching on September 16 alongside the main set, this premium collector’s box includes:
- Two exclusive Pikachu ex Futuristic Rare promo cards.
- Daytime and nighttime Pikachu artwork.
- Premium Pokémon TCG accessories.
The box will retail for 27,500 yen.
Espeon ex & Umbreon ex Premium Deck Set
One of the most anticipated anniversary products has finally been revealed.
The Premium Deck Set includes:
- Two complete 60-card decks.
- Special Illustration Rare Espeon ex.
- Special Illustration Rare Umbreon ex.
- Illustration Rare Zeraora and Victini cards.
- Premium deck accessories.
