Pokémon GO Tour 2027 Announced: Alola Takes Over Pokémon GO Next February

Pokémon GO players have officially been given something very exciting to look forward to in 2027, with Pokémon GO Tour returning next February and taking Trainers to the Alola region.

The Pokémon GO team has announced that Pokémon GO Tour 2027 will celebrate the region first introduced in Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon.

While most of the event details are still being kept secret, we now know when and where the major events will take place.

Pokémon GO Tour 2027 Is All About Alola

After Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos in 2026, the next GO Tour will travel to Alola, the tropical region from Pokémon Sun and Moon.

This means Pokémon first introduced in the Alola games will be at the centre of the 2027 celebration.

At this stage, however, The Pokémon Company and Pokémon GO have not announced which specific Pokémon will be featured, nor have they revealed any new Shinies, raids, Special Research, bonuses or other gameplay features.

Those details are expected to be revealed closer to the event.

For now, the announcement is primarily a save-the-date announcement. Pokémon GO

Two Real-World Pokémon GO Tour Locations

Trainers will once again have the opportunity to experience Pokémon GO Tour in person.

The 2027 real-world events will take place in:

Kaohsiung, Taiwan
Los Angeles, California

Both events will run from Friday, February 19 through Sunday, February 21, 2027.

The in-person events are designed to bring thousands of Trainers together, with special gameplay and opportunities to meet other Pokémon GO players.

The exact venues and event schedules have not yet been announced.

Pokémon GO Tour Is Returning to Los Angeles

Los Angeles will once again be one of the major Pokémon GO Tour destinations.

The city previously hosted Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos in February 2026, with the event taking place at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena.

However, the location for Pokémon GO Tour 2027 has not yet been confirmed, so Trainers shouldn’t assume that the Rose Bowl will be used again.

For now, the official announcement simply lists Los Angeles, California as the destination.

Kaohsiung Will Host Pokémon GO Tour for the First Time

The other major destination is Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

This will give Trainers in Taiwan another opportunity to experience Pokémon GO Tour as a major in-person event, with the 2027 celebration moving to Kaohsiung.

The official announcement confirms the city but has not yet revealed the exact venue.

The Global Pokémon GO Tour Returns the Following Weekend

Don’t live anywhere near Los Angeles or Kaohsiung?

You won’t miss out completely.

The global Pokémon GO Tour 2027 will take place the following weekend on:

Saturday, February 27, 2027
Sunday, February 28, 2027

This global event will allow Trainers around the world to participate in the Alola-themed celebration from wherever they are. Pokémon GO

That includes players in Australia, meaning Australian Trainers won’t need to travel overseas to participate in the global Pokémon GO Tour.

The global event is described by the Pokémon GO team as the worldwide finale of this year’s Pokémon GO Tour.

What Pokémon Could We See?

For now, this is where things get interesting.

The Pokémon GO team has confirmed Alola as the theme, but hasn’t revealed the Pokémon lineup or gameplay features.

That means we don’t yet know which Alolan Pokémon will receive new Shiny releases, which Pokémon will appear more frequently, or whether any particular Legendary or Ultra Beast will play a major role.

The Alola region gives Pokémon GO plenty of possibilities, including Pokémon such as Rowlet, Litten, Popplio, Rockruff, Mimikyu, Jangmo-o, Cosmog, Solgaleo, Lunala and Necrozma.

However, none of these have been confirmed as featured Pokémon for GO Tour 2027 at this stage.

We’ll have to wait for the next announcements before we know exactly what Pokémon GO has planned.

Tickets Are Coming Next Season

Trainers will have to wait a little longer before they can buy tickets.

The Pokémon GO team says that tickets for both the in-person events and the global in-game event will become available during the next Season, along with more information about what players can expect.

No ticket prices have been announced yet.

This also means that players planning an overseas trip to Los Angeles or Kaohsiung will need to wait for the official event details before making firm plans.

Australia Will Get the Global Event

For Australian Trainers, the biggest piece of news is that Pokémon GO Tour 2027 will once again have a worldwide event.

While there isn’t currently a Pokémon GO Tour 2027 live event announced for Australia, Australian players will be able to participate in the global celebration on February 27 and 28.

Exactly what time the event will begin and end in Australia has not yet been announced.

More Alola Details Are Coming

This announcement is only the beginning.

The Pokémon GO team has confirmed that more information will be revealed next Season, including tickets and details about what players can expect from Pokémon GO Tour 2027.

So while we don’t yet know which Pokémon, bonuses or new features will headline the event, we now have the most important dates locked in.

After a Kalos-themed GO Tour in 2026, Alola is officially taking over Pokémon GO in February 2027.

And considering how many possibilities the Alola region brings to Pokémon GO, this could be a very exciting GO Tour for Trainers.
