Take a Hike with Pokémon GO’s New Season: Twilight Trails
A new season has arrived in Pokémon GO, and Trainers are being invited to get outside and explore with Twilight Trails.
Running from September 8 at 10:00 a.m. until December 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time, the new season is bringing more Pokémon from the Paldea region, new Mega Evolutions and a fresh lineup of Dynamax Pokémon to Max Battles.
And there’s plenty happening over the next few months.
Paldea Pokémon Continue Their Pokémon GO Debuts
One of the major focuses of Twilight Trails will be Pokémon originally discovered in the Paldea region from Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
Among the Pokémon making their Pokémon GO debut are:
- Maschiff
- Mabosstiff

And Pokémon has confirmed that these won’t be the only Paldea Pokémon appearing throughout the season.
So if you’ve been working on completing your Paldea Pokédex in Pokémon GO, there will be plenty more to look forward to as Twilight Trails continues.
More Mega Evolutions Are Coming
Mega Evolution is also getting plenty of attention during the new season.
Following Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale, Twilight Trails will introduce more Mega-Evolved Pokémon to Pokémon GO.
Two of the headline debuts are:
Mega Staraptor
Staraptor is finally getting its chance to Mega Evolve in Pokémon GO.
Mega Chandelure
The Ghost- and Fire-type Chandelure is also receiving its Mega Evolution debut.
Pokémon has confirmed that these are just two of the Mega-Evolved Pokémon arriving during Twilight Trails, with more details to be revealed throughout the season.
There will also be opportunities to continue your Mega Evolution journey through events including Mega Squads and September’s Community Day Classic.
New Dynamax Pokémon Are Coming
If Mega Evolution isn’t enough, Trainers can also look forward to more Dynamax Pokémon appearing in Max Battles.
Several new Pokémon will be making their Dynamax debuts during Twilight Trails, including:
- Dynamax Uxie
- Dynamax Mesprit
- Dynamax Azelf
- Dynamax Rhyhorn
- Dynamax Sneasel
- Dynamax Sizzlipede
Rhyhorn, Sneasel and Sizzlipede will appear in Max Battles throughout the season, while Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf will appear together during a special Max Battle Day.
That means Trainers will have even more reasons to keep an eye on Power Spots as the season progresses.
Three Community Days Are On The Calendar
There are also three Community Day dates already locked in for Twilight Trails.
September 12 — September Community Day Classic
The season kicks off with September Community Day Classic, giving Trainers another opportunity to catch a previously featured Pokémon.
October 10 — October Community Day
The next Community Day takes place on October 10.
November 21 — November Community Day
The final Community Day of Twilight Trails will take place on November 21.
More information about the featured Pokémon and bonuses for these events will be revealed separately.
GO Pass Returns With New Milestones
Twilight Trails will also feature a new GO Pass progression system.
As Trainers increase their rank and reach certain milestones, they can unlock bonuses that remain active until the season’s GO Pass ends.
The major milestones announced for Twilight Trails include:
Tier 1 — Rank 1
Trainers who are Level 31 or higher will receive one guaranteed Candy XL when trading Pokémon.
Tier 2 — Rank 25
Increased limits for:
- Opening Gifts
- Receiving Gifts from PokéStops and Gyms
- Storing Gifts
Tier 3 — Rank 50
2× Daily Adventure Incense duration.
Tier 4 — Rank 75
Increased XP and Stardust from hatching Eggs.
For players who regularly trade, hatch Eggs or use Daily Adventure Incense, some of these bonuses could be particularly useful.
New Pokémon Will Hatch From Eggs
As with every new Pokémon GO season, the Egg pools are also changing.
Twilight Trails introduces a new selection of Pokémon that can hatch from Eggs, with Pokémon directing Trainers to the Scopely Explore blog for the full Egg rotation.
So if you’ve been saving up Eggs or Incubators, it could be worth checking the new hatch pools before deciding which Eggs to prioritise.
Twilight Trails Runs Through December
The new season gives Trainers plenty of time to explore, with Twilight Trails running until December 1, 2026.
Between new Paldea Pokémon, Mega Evolution debuts, Dynamax Pokémon, Max Battles, Community Days and GO Pass bonuses, there’s quite a bit packed into the next few months.
And considering we’re heading into spring here in Australia, the timing is actually pretty perfect for a season encouraging players to get outside and explore.
Twilight Trails Is Just Getting Started
Pokémon GO: Twilight Trails is now underway, running from September 8 at 10:00 a.m. until December 1 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
With Maschiff and Mabosstiff making their debut, Mega Staraptor and Mega Chandelure arriving, and new Dynamax Pokémon joining Max Battles, there’s plenty for Trainers to chase.
And that’s before we even get all of the individual events and announcements that will be revealed throughout the season.
