Pokémon’s Golden Pokémon Becomes a Real Pure Gold Figurine And It Costs Over $15,000
Pokémon has taken the idea of “Golden Body” quite literally with a brand-new collectible featuring Gholdengo.
The Pokémon Company has announced a stunning K24 Gholdengo figurine, turning the Generation 9 Pokémon into a miniature figure made from approximately 15 grams of pure gold.
And this isn’t a cheap Pokémon collectible. The figurine is priced at ¥1,540,000, or around AUD $15,000+ depending on the exchange rate.
Gholdengo’s Golden Body Has Become Actual Gold
Gholdengo is already one of the most appropriately chosen Pokémon for a gold collectible.
The Pokémon, which is National Pokédex #1000, has the ability Good as Gold, which makes it immune to status moves used against it.
The new figurine takes inspiration directly from that ability, with SGC creating a miniature Gholdengo entirely from K24 pure gold.
The finished figure measures approximately 6cm tall and contains around 15g of pure gold.

And yes, it is actually made from K24 gold rather than simply being gold coloured.
A ¥1.54 Million Pokémon Collectible
The K24 Gholdengo has a retail price of:
¥1,540,000 including tax
That’s approximately AUD $15,000–$16,000, depending on the exchange rate at the time of purchase.
The price can also change in the future because it is tied to fluctuations in the gold market.
The figurine comes presented inside a glass display case, making it more of a precious-metal collectible than a conventional Pokémon figure.

First Shown at the Yokohama Grand Gold Exhibition
The golden Gholdengo made its debut at the Yokohama Grand Gold Exhibition, held at Yokohama Takashimaya from September 30 through October 5, 2026.
The exhibition brings together more than 1,000 gold products, ranging from traditional Japanese gold artwork and ornaments through to collectible pieces.
But Pokémon fans had another reason to visit.
Alongside the small K24 Gholdengo, visitors could see two much larger Pokémon gold displays.
A Life-Size Golden Gholdengo
Also on display is a life-size Gholdengo statue covered in gold leaf.
The enormous figure stands approximately 120cm tall and was created using around 730 sheets of gold leaf.
Unlike the 6cm K24 figure, this life-size version is being displayed as a special exhibition piece rather than the ¥1.54 million product being sold to collectors.
And it certainly sounds like something that would make for an incredible photo opportunity.
Pikachu Is Getting the Golden Treatment Too
Gholdengo isn’t the only Pokémon receiving a massive golden makeover at the exhibition.
A gold-leaf Pikachu is also being displayed.
The Pikachu statue stands approximately 40cm tall, or around 50cm including its ears, and uses approximately 200 sheets of gold leaf.

Together, the giant Gholdengo and Pikachu make for quite the Pokémon display.
Where Can You Buy the Golden Gholdengo?
After its initial appearance at the Yokohama Grand Gold Exhibition, the K24 Gholdengo is scheduled to go on sale nationwide in Japan from October 6, 2026.
It will be available through SGC Gold Shops as well as selected department stores, including:
- Takashimaya
- Mitsukoshi Isetan
- Daimaru Matsuzakaya
- Other participating department stores
SGC notes that individual store availability can vary and quantities are limited. Nintendo DREAM WEB
The Perfect Pokémon to Turn Into Gold
There is probably no Pokémon more fitting for a pure-gold collectible than Gholdengo.
Gholdengo’s entire design revolves around gold coins, and its Good as Gold ability makes the connection even more obvious. The official Pokémon website describes Gholdengo as being formed from 1,000 coins, with its coin-covered body also helping it withstand attacks.
Now, rather than simply looking like gold, one tiny Gholdengo is literally made from the stuff.
At 6cm tall and 15g, it is surprisingly small considering the ¥1.54 million price tag — but a large part of what you’re buying is the precious metal itself.
And with gold prices continuing to fluctuate, SGC specifically notes that the selling price may be revised depending on the gold market.
Definitely One for the Serious Pokémon Collector
We’ve seen plenty of expensive Pokémon collectibles over the years, but a pure K24 gold Gholdengo feels particularly appropriate.
It isn’t just a Pokémon figure that happens to be gold coloured.
It’s a 15-gram piece of pure gold shaped like Pokémon #1000.
For most Pokémon fans, ¥1.54 million is going to make this one a very distant addition to the wishlist. But for serious Pokémon collectors — and people who collect precious-metal artwork — this could be one of the more unusual Pokémon releases of 2026.
And honestly, if you’re going to make a Pokémon out of pure gold, Gholdengo is probably the one to choose.
