Pokémon Legend Research: Solve the Mystery of the Legendary Pokémon in Nihonbashi & Yaesu
Pokémon fans visiting Tokyo have a new adventure to take on, with Mitsui Fudosan launching a Pokémon-themed mystery-solving experience in the Nihonbashi and Yaesu areas.
Called “Pokémon Legend Research – Awaken the Legendary Research Report!”, the experience turns the streets of Tokyo into a Pokémon mystery, challenging participants to follow clues, visit Pokémon statues and decipher an encrypted research report.
A Pokémon Mystery Hidden in Tokyo
The adventure begins when you discover something lying beneath a street tree.
Inside is an adventurer’s report and a mysterious file.
When the file is activated, a message appears from someone who has dedicated their life to meeting a Legendary Pokémon.
The researcher’s records have been securely encrypted so that only someone with a righteous heart who loves Pokémon can decipher them.
Once the message ends, a map of the surrounding area appears, revealing that clues needed to decode the mysterious report are hidden nearby.
That’s where your adventure begins.
Participants must explore Nihonbashi and Yaesu, visiting Pokémon statues and using the information they discover to solve the mystery surrounding the Legendary Pokémon.
How Does the Pokémon Mystery Work?
The experience is designed as a real-world puzzle adventure.
Participants first purchase a Mystery-Solving Kit Exchange Voucher and then exchange it for their puzzle kit at the reception desk on the first floor of Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower.
Once you’ve collected the kit, it’s time to head out into the surrounding area.
The mysterious file contains codes connected to the Legendary Pokémon, and you’ll need to gather information from the Pokémon statues around Nihonbashi and Yaesu to decipher them.
A smartphone or tablet with an internet connection is required to access the dedicated website used during the puzzle.
Created With Puzzle Experts RIDDLER
The mystery-solving experience has been created with RIDDLER, a Japanese puzzle-creation group led by Ryogo Matsumaru.
RIDDLER specialises in creating puzzle experiences designed to be enjoyed by everyone from beginners through to experienced puzzle solvers.

Matsumaru is also known for his work in promoting puzzle-solving entertainment in Japan and has a long-standing love of Pokémon.
That makes the Pokémon experience particularly interesting for fans who enjoy escape rooms, treasure hunts and real-world mystery games.
How Much Does It Cost?
Participation requires a Mystery-Solving Kit Exchange Voucher, which costs:
¥3,300 (tax included)
Tickets can be purchased through Mitsui Shopping Park Ticket or Ticket Pia.

How Long Does It Take?
The organisers estimate that the experience takes approximately two hours.
However, there is no fixed time limit, meaning participants can take breaks or even continue the mystery on another day during the event period.
The actual time required will depend on how quickly you solve the puzzles, how busy the area is and how long it takes you to travel between locations.
You Don’t Need to Be a Puzzle Expert
One of the nice things about the event is that it isn’t designed exclusively for experienced puzzle solvers.
The recommended age is elementary school age and above, with the difficulty designed so that beginners and children can enjoy the experience.
Children younger than elementary school age must be accompanied by a guardian aged 18 or older for safety reasons.
Where Does It Take Place?
The adventure takes place throughout the:
Nihonbashi & Yaesu areas of Tokyo
The starting point for collecting the puzzle kit is:
Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower – 1F
Reception hours are:
Weekdays: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

A Different Way to Experience Pokémon
What makes this event particularly interesting is that it isn’t taking place inside a Pokémon Center or an attraction.
Instead, the streets of Tokyo become part of the Pokémon adventure.
You’ll be walking between real locations, looking for Pokémon statues, examining clues and gradually piecing together an encrypted research report.
It’s almost like taking on your own Pokémon research mission in the real world.
And considering the event is built around Legendary Pokémon, there is plenty of mystery surrounding exactly what you’ll discover as you progress.
