Trading Card Grading x Pokémon Newspaper

A New Local Grading Team is collaborating with the Pokémon Newspaper!

A new card authenticator is rising through the ranks in Australia. Since the cut back on PSA card submissions in America, more and more local hobbyists are getting into the card or Pokémon Card grading service. With so many companies now grading who do we choose? Well my choice of grader is “Trading Card Grading” located in Vincentia NSW. They currently only grade the standard size Pokémon Cards but will be looking to expanded into vintage and custom cards. Their grading process is smooth and super easy to submit.

When it comes to grading, I like 4 things, first is Location. Being based in NSW it isn’t going to take weeks to get there, or even opened by customs on the way back, so that’s always a plus. Second is the label. Now I’m all for a pretty label, but there is more too it than that. With other graders you may see the overall grade and the sub grades on the front. For me its then too cluttered or the text is to small. At TCG they use a beautiful black label with shiny gold text, the name of the card and the overall grade is on the front, and the sub grades are located on the back with a holofoil sticker and grade number ref. Third is the prices/time frame. TCG have various time frames available with the standard starting at $25ea and prices rise as you require them quicker. People think $25 might be a lot, however each slab is cased in plastic, then in a padded bag and then in a pretty TCG box. Everything arrives, all safe and sound. Now Four, is the last one but most important one and that’s customer service. When I used the online TCG form for the first time I was unaware that they couldn’t grade Prisims (vintage Pokémon Cards). So I lodged my cards, paid and off they went. I got an email from their support just a few days later once they received it and they notified me of the issue. They gave me various options to choose from, but I ended up deciding to cancel my prisim subs and the money was back in my bank the very next day. People always go on price these days and don’t understand how important customer service is.

You can see below some of my recent subs that have returned, so far only one 10. If you are lucky enough you may even get a 10 pristine which is a gold label!

Its SUPER easy to lodge your cards. I have also done a step by step guide for you. Head over to Trading Card Grading

Step One:

First you select a service. The standard service is what I like to use, which takes about 2-3 weeks to be graded.

Step Two:

Next we need to add card details for the cards we are sending. The details required for your cards is much easier than when sending to PSA, that’s for sure. We have google these days so it really shouldn’t be that hard to find out what card and what set you have. Add as many cards as you like by pressing the black + to add additional lines.

Step Three:

Next step is adding in your details so they know where to ship your graded cards once completed.

Step Four:

Now its time for payment. We have something special for all our readers! TCG is giving ALL Pokémon Newspaper Readers 5% off their subs! Use the Code: TCGNEWS5OFF while in cart before payment.

So don’t just take my word for it, jump on and lodge some cards! Then come and show us what you got!
