The Pokémon Company has officially unveiled two exciting new Trading Card Game expansions, and they both have one thing in common – the legendary sky guardian, Mega Rayquaza!
During the latest Pokémon announcements, fans got their first look at both Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution – Delta Reign and Pokémon TCG Pocket: Ruler of the Skies, with Mega Rayquaza taking centre stage across both releases.
The reveal continues Pokémon’s growing Mega Evolution revival and gives collectors and players plenty to look forward to in the second half of 2026.

While The Pokémon Company hasn’t yet revealed the full card list, the announcement trailer showcases Mega Rayquaza as one of the headline Pokémon for the expansion.
Given Rayquaza’s popularity among collectors and competitive players alike, expectations for the set are already incredibly high.

Mega Rayquaza Returns to the Spotlight
Mega Rayquaza remains one of the most iconic Legendary Pokémon in franchise history.
First introduced during Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Mega Rayquaza quickly became famous for:

- Being one of the strongest Pokémon ever created.
- Its starring role in the Delta Episode.
- Its popularity among competitive players and collectors.
The “Delta Reign” name itself appears to reference the Delta Episode from Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, where Rayquaza played a central role in saving the world from an incoming meteor.
