Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic

Relive the Nostalgia with Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic!

The world of Pokémon has been a beloved franchise for over two decades, captivating fans with its video games, anime, and merchandise. One of the most popular aspects of the franchise is the Pokémon Trading Card Game, which has been enjoyed by fans worldwide since its debut in 1996. Now, the Pokemon Company is set to release a new commemorative set that will take fans back to the classic days of the TCG with “Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic.”

This set is designed to bring back the timeless joy of the Pokémon TCG with a portable, foldable two-player game board that includes card placement zones for Active Pokémon, Benched Pokémon, deck, discard pile, and Prize cards. The board also has a compartment in the center that can hold up to three decks and a toolbox featuring all the accessories players need for battling.

The toolbox includes stackable damage counters that clearly indicate how much damage a Pokémon has taken, three-dimensional Poison and Burn markers, and metal orbs that take the place of Pokémon coins. The metal orbs can be rolled down a small chute in the center of the toolbox, and if they land in a white-bordered hole, it’s heads, and if they land in a black-bordered hole, it’s tails. With this feature, players will never need to scrounge for dice or coins again.

In addition to the game board and toolbox, the set also includes three Pokémon TCG decks featuring Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise, as well as newly printed cards to go along with the classics. The set also comes with three deck boxes featuring Energy symbols matching the included Pokémon TCG decks. You can see the whole set in the video below.

Currently, the Pokemon Trading Card Game Classic is only listed as a lottery item on the Pokemon Center Japan’s online store. While an English version is planned for release in the US, there is no news on an Australian release or any updates on pre-orders at this time. For now I have the Pokemon Trading Card Game Classic Game on my interest list.
