Get a Special Mewtwo Pokémon TCG Promo Card with 30th Celebration Purchases

Pokémon TCG collectors have another special card to add to their shopping lists, with a Mewtwo promo card being offered as a gift with purchase to celebrate the release of the upcoming Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration expansion.

The promotion begins October 2, 2026, with fans able to receive the special Mewtwo card when spending $15 or more on Pokémon TCG products at participating retailers. The offer will be available while supplies last.

And yes — Australia is included!

A Special Mewtwo for Pokémon’s 30th Anniversary

The promo features Mewtwo, one of the most iconic Legendary Pokémon from the original Pokémon generation.

The card has been created specifically to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pokémon and features both the Pokémon 30 and What’s Your Favorite logos.

That makes it a particularly interesting addition for collectors, as it isn’t simply another card from the main 30th Celebration expansion.

The promotion also comes with a separate card featuring a QR code, which takes fans to information about the Pokémon Night Out experience.

When Can You Get It?

The Mewtwo promotion begins on:

October 2, 2026

To receive the card, you’ll need to spend $15 or more on Pokémon TCG products at one of the participating retailers.

The offer is available both in-store and online, although the promotion is strictly while supplies last.

So if you’re hoping to grab one, it probably isn’t something you’ll want to leave until the end of the promotion.

Australian Retailers Are Included!

This is the part Australian collectors will want to know about.

The promotion is available at several Australian retailers:

  • EB Games Australia
  • JB Hi-Fi
  • BIG W
  • Toymate
  • Mr Toys

So Australian collectors won’t need to try to import the promo from the United States.

The official retailer list specifically includes these Australian stores under the Oceania promotion.

AU Stores – What You Need To Spend

The requirement is:

Spend $15 or more on Pokémon TCG products → receive the Mewtwo promo card.

It’s worth remembering that the card is while supplies last, so simply spending $15 doesn’t necessarily guarantee that a store will still have cards available once its allocation is gone.

For online orders, it’s also worth checking the individual retailer’s terms to make sure the promotion is being applied to your order.

The Promotion Arrives After 30th Celebration Releases

The Mewtwo promo arrives a couple of weeks after Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration officially launches.

The anniversary expansion releases worldwide on:

September 16, 2026

The set is being released as part of Pokémon’s huge 30th anniversary celebrations and features a mixture of new artwork and reprints of classic Pokémon TCG cards.

But one of the biggest attractions for collectors is the huge number of Pikachu cards.

Where Else Can You Get It?

Here’s the full retailer list currently announced:

RegionRetailers
🇺🇸 United StatesGameStop, Best Buy, Hot Topic, Five Below, Barnes & Noble, Macy’s, BoxLunch
🇨🇦 CanadaEB Games
🇦🇺 OceaniaEB Games Australia, JB Hi-Fi, BIG W, Toymate, Mr Toys

The promotion begins October 2, 2026, and is available in-store and online while supplies last.

Another Mewtwo for the Collection

With Mewtwo already being one of the most popular Pokémon from the original games and Pokémon: The First Movie, it’s a fitting choice for a special 30th anniversary promotional card.

And for Australian collectors, having five different retailers participating makes this one considerably easier to pick up than many of the special Pokémon TCG promotions that don’t make it Down Under.

Just remember: you need to spend $15 or more on Pokémon TCG products, and once a retailer runs out of its promo cards, that’s it.

So if you’re already planning on picking up some 30th Celebration products, October 2 might be a good day to do it.
