Pyschic energy that seems to belong to the mythical Pokemon Mew has been detected on an isolated island. Goh is eager to catch Mew and suggests to Ash that they should go to the Island and investigate. However, when they get to the island, they don’t get confronted by Mew, but by the mysterious Pokemon known as Mewtwo. A Pokemon that Ash has not seen in a long time.
