Shiny Chi-Yu Tera Raid Event Now Live For Pokémon Scarlet/Violet
A brand-new Tera Raid event has begun in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, giving players the chance to take on one of the Treasures of Ruin in its Shiny form.
From now until September 14th, 2025, Trainers can challenge a special 5★ Tera Raid Battle featuring Shiny Chi-Yu. While this fiery fish cannot be caught directly from the raid, the event is part of the ongoing Shiny Treasures of Ruin challenge. If players around the world collectively defeat Shiny Chi-Yu over 1 million times, The Pokémon Company will distribute a guaranteed Shiny Chi-Yu to all players via Mystery Gift starting September 19th, 2025.
Fire-Themed Mass Outbreaks
Alongside the raid, a Fire-type Mass Outbreak event is also live, giving players additional opportunities to hunt for Shiny Pokémon. Depending on where you’re exploring, you’ll find the following boosted outbreaks:
- Charcadet in Paldea
- Vulpix in Kitakami
- Numel at Blueberry Academy
How to Join the Raid Event
To participate, make sure your game is connected online and that you’ve downloaded the latest Poké Portal News. Shiny Chi-Yu raids will appear as glowing Tera Raid crystals across the map. Team up with friends or battle solo to contribute to the global total.
What’s Next?
This event marks the fourth and final Shiny Treasures of Ruin raid, following Shiny Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, and Ting-Lu. Each of those challenges was cleared with millions of victories, leading to full Mystery Gift distributions. With Chi-Yu closing out the series, it’s expected that all four Shiny Treasures will be available to claim by the end of September — a first-time opportunity for many players.
