7★ Tera Raids challenge trainers with powerful new foes
he Pokémon Company has launched a brand-new 7★ Tera Raid event for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. From now until October 12th, 2025, players can take on some of the franchise’s most formidable foes:
- Roaring Moon (Dragon Tera-Type) in Pokémon Scarlet
- Iron Valiant (Fairy Tera-Type) in Pokémon Violet
These Pokémon are available as Mightiest Mark variants, meaning they can only be caught once per player. After capturing them, trainers can continue to battle these raids to earn additional rewards.
At the same time, 5★ Tera Raids featuring Past Paradox Pokémon in Scarlet and Future Paradox Pokémon in Violet are also running.
Best Pokémon to Bring
Given the types of the 7★ raids, trainers should consider the following strategies:
For Roaring Moon (Dragon Tera-Type, Scarlet)
- Ice-types like Frosmoth or Glastrier to exploit its Dragon typing.
- Fairy-types such as Grimmsnarl or Flutter Mane for strong Dragon resistance.
- Status support: Pokémon with paralysis or burn moves can help reduce Roaring Moon’s offensive potential.
For Iron Valiant (Fairy Tera-Type, Violet)
- Steel-types such as Iron Hands or Kingler to deal super-effective damage.
- Poison-types like Salazzle for additional advantage against Fairy moves.
- Bulky Pokémon with high defense can help tank Iron Valiant’s heavy-hitting Fairy attacks.
Trainers are advised to bring a balanced team with both offensive coverage and healing support, as 7★ raids are extremely challenging and often hit very hard.
Version Restriction
Currently, reports indicate that players cannot join the event raids on the opposite version of the game. It is unclear whether this is intentional or a bug, so trainers are encouraged to keep an eye out for official updates.
Final Thoughts
The Mightiest Mark Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant Tera Raid event provides an exciting challenge for Scarlet and Violet players alike. With the addition of new rewards and continued 5★ Paradox raids, October promises to be a busy month for trainers in Paldea.
