Ghost-type Pokémon join the roster just in time for spooky season!

The Pokémon Company has announced the addition of new Pokémon to Pokémon Sleep, just in time for Halloween! Beginning October 27th, 2025, players will be able to encounter Pumpkaboo through their sleep research in the app.

A Mysterious Discovery

Researchers have reported sightings of the Ghost-type Pokémon Pumpkaboo is appearing near certain fields, marking their debut in Pokémon Sleep. This follows the ongoing efforts of sleep researchers who continue to observe new Pokémon emerging across the game’s islands.

“Perhaps the day will soon come when we’ll be able to encounter them through sleep research,” the official announcement teased.

• Start Date: October 27th, 2025, from 4:00 AM (local time)
• Available Incense: Baketcha and Pumpkaboo Incense can be used starting from the same time
• Locations:
  • Wakakusa Main Island
  • Former Gold Power Plant
  • Wakakusa Main Island EX
• Sleep Type: Dozing Off

Four Unique Sizes

Like their appearances in the mainline Pokémon games, both Baketcha and Pumpkaboo come in four different sizes — Small, Average, Large, and Super Size. Each size affects their helping abilities:

• Larger sizes can carry more items,
• Smaller sizes have a faster helping speed.

This update not only expands the Pokémon Sleep roster but also adds new layers of strategy and variety to team compositions — making for the perfect Halloween-themed research addition!
