
Pokémon Champions Now Available for Nintendo Switch + Free Mystery Gift
The Pokémon Company has officially released Pokémon Champions for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
The new Pokémon battle simulator is now available as a free download through the Nintendo eShop, allowing players to jump straight into online and local Pokémon battles without needing one of the mainline RPG games.
Pokémon Champions focuses entirely on competitive battling, featuring streamlined team building, online matchmaking, ranked play, and support for multiple Pokémon from across the series.
Free Mystery Gift Machamp Available
To celebrate the launch, players can claim a free Machamp through the in-game Mystery Gift feature.

Ranked Battles and Regulation M-A Now Live
Alongside the game’s launch, the first competitive season is now underway.
- Regulation M-A is live until June 17th, 2026
- Ranked Battle Season M-1 runs until May 13th, 2026
These rulesets determine which Pokémon, moves, and battle formats are legal in competitive play during the current season.
Players looking to climb the ranked ladder will want to begin building their teams quickly, as the first season is already underway.
With Pokémon Champions now available for free, Pokémon fans finally have a dedicated battle simulator on Nintendo Switch that makes competitive battling more accessible than ever.
