Pokémon GO May 2026 Community Day Features Lechonk
Pokémon GO has officially revealed its May 2026 Community Day event, and this time the spotlight is on Lechonk.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time.
During the event, Lechonk will appear far more frequently in the wild, giving players plenty of chances to catch one — including the possibility of encountering a Shiny Lechonk or one featuring a special event background.
Exclusive Move: Mud Slap Oinkologne
Players who evolve Lechonk into Oinkologne during the event or within four hours afterwards will receive an Oinkologne that knows the exclusive Fast Attack Mud Slap.
Mud Slap Stats
- Trainer Battles: 11 power
- Gyms & Raids: 19 power

As usual, a large range of event bonuses will be active during Community Day, including:

- 3-hour Incense duration
- 1-hour Lure Modules

- 50% reduced Stardust cost for trades
Several bonuses will remain active until 9:00 PM local time after the main event ends.
Special Research Ticket
For a paid ticket, Trainers can unlock exclusive Community Day Special Research featuring additional Lechonk encounters and bonus rewards.
Rewards include:
- Three Lechonk encounters with special backgrounds
- Extra Lechonk encounters
- One Premium Battle Pass
- One Rare Candy XL
Tickets can also be gifted to Great Friends or higher through the in-game shop.
Increased Lure Module Spawns
One interesting addition for 2026 Community Days continues here — featured Pokémon now heavily spawn around regular Lure Modules even after the main event window.
From 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM local time, PokéStops with active Lure Modules will have a very high chance of spawning Lechonk, including Shiny variants and special backgrounds.
Community Ambassador Bonuses
Players attending official Community Ambassador meetups can receive additional Timed Research leading to even more Lechonk encounters with special backgrounds, along with premium rewards.
Niantic also confirmed that beginning in 2026, Community Day Pokémon can feature yearly special backgrounds, making some catches more collectible than ever before.
A Relaxed but Fun Community Day
While Lechonk might not be the strongest Pokémon competitively, its popularity and shiny form are already making this Community Day one many players are looking forward to.
And honestly… a pink Shiny Lechonk is pretty hard to say no to.
