Pokémon Cafe TOKYO Reopening on June 17th Following Renovations
Pokémon Cafe TOKYO has officially confirmed its reopening date following its temporary closure for renovations earlier this year.
The popular Pokémon-themed café located in Nihonbashi, Tokyo will reopen on June 17th, 2026, with updated operating hours, revised menus, and refreshed interiors expected as part of the renovation project.

Reservations Reopen This Month
Alongside the reopening announcement, The Pokémon Company confirmed reservations will reopen from:
- May 17th, 2026 at 6:00 PM JST
Reservations during the first booking wave will cover:
- June 17th through July 7th, 2026
For the time being, entry to Pokémon Cafe TOKYO will remain reservation-only after reopening, with same-day walk-in access still undecided.
Fans have also been asked not to gather or wait around the café due to crowd management concerns.
Updated Business Hours
Beginning June 17th, the café’s new operating hours will be:
- 10:30 AM – 9:00 PM JST
Last orders for food, desserts, and drinks will be:
- 8:30 PM JST
Merchandise attached to the café can still be purchased without reservations.
Major Menu Changes Coming
The reopening will also bring a significant menu refresh, with many long-running fan-favourite dishes being permanently retired from both Pokémon Cafe TOKYO and Pokémon Cafe OSAKA.
Menu items ending on June 7th include:
- Pikachu & Bulbasaur Friendship Curry Plate
- Pikachu & Charmander Friendship Curry Plate
- Pikachu & Squirtle Friendship Curry Plate
- Snorlax Full-Belly Nap Lunch Plate
- Pokémon Cafe Pikachu Soufflé Pancakes
- Pokémon Cafe Berry Chocolate Parfait
- Poké Ball Dessert Bowl
- Several drinks and tea sets
Honestly, seeing the Pikachu Soufflé Pancakes disappear is probably going to hurt longtime Pokémon Cafe fans the most. Those things basically became one of the café’s signature dishes over the years.
Price Changes Also Announced
The café also confirmed a small price increase for certain menu items from June 17th onward.
One example includes:
- Gengar’s Mysterious Light Smoothie
- Smoothie with souvenir glass version
The changes affect both Tokyo and Osaka locations.
One of Japan’s Most Popular Pokémon Attractions
Since opening, Pokémon Cafe TOKYO has become one of the most difficult Pokémon attractions in Japan to book due to extremely high demand from both local fans and tourists.
Between the themed meals, exclusive merchandise, life-sized Pokémon décor, and interactive dining experiences, the café has become almost a must-visit location for Pokémon fans travelling through Tokyo.
With the renovated version now finally reopening next month, many fans are already expecting reservation slots to disappear almost immediately once bookings go live.
