Morinaga Milk and Ginza Cozy Corner Reveal New Pokémon-Themed Dessert Collaboration in Japan

Japanese confectionery company Ginza Cozy Corner and dairy maker Morinaga Milk Industry have teamed up for a new Pokémon-themed sweets campaign in Japan, bringing together cakes, desserts, and milk products inspired by some of the franchise’s most popular characters.

The collaboration centers around a new lineup of Pokémon desserts sold through Ginza Cozy Corner stores, alongside special Morinaga Milk products released in matching packaging and flavours.

The main attraction is a large Pokémon cake set featuring nine different mini desserts based on fan-favourite Pokémon. The lineup includes:

  • Pikachu with banana cream and popping candy
  • Psyduck with lemon tea whipped cream
  • Jigglypuff with strawberry custard
  • Eevee with chocolate caramel
  • Ditto with blueberry cream
  • Piplup with citrus soda mousse
  • Bulbasaur with muscat and yoghurt
  • Gengar with peach and grape jelly
  • Charizard with mango whipped cream

Even the packaging has been given a Pokémon makeover, with themed artwork across the outer box.

Alongside the assortment, Cozy Corner is also releasing a larger individual cake based on Pikachu. Unlike the smaller Pikachu dessert in the set, this version is made with sponge cake, custard cream, whipped cream, and caramel sauce, topped with a full Pikachu face.

For fans wanting something easier to take home, the collaboration also includes several packaged sweets and tins featuring Pokémon artwork. These include:

  • A Pikachu-themed biscuit and madeleine tin
  • An Eevee Friends madeleine set
  • A larger “Party Box” with cookies and Poké Ball-shaped financiers

These products are intended to be more suitable as souvenirs or gifts than the fresh cakes.

The sweets are available through participating Cozy Corner stores in Japan, with reservations having opened earlier this month and pickup running through early May. As with previous Pokémon food collaborations in Japan, quantities are limited and likely to sell out quickly.
